Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThe Chief Advisor, Strategic Partnerships serves as a key strategic partner and problem solver for the organisation. This role is responsible for:

• responding to high priority and complex issues on behalf of the Chief Executive and Board/Commissioners
• assisting the CE and ELT to embed Health NZ and Government’s strategic priorities into key work programmes for delivery
• advising the Board/Commissioners, CE and ELT on political nuances to ensure robust and appropriate responses. This includes identifying, understanding and resolving political and strategic issues impacting on the effectiveness of our strategic relationships and delivery programmes
• working with the Board/Commissioners, CE and senior managers to support relationships and engagements with government. This includes building trusted relationships with Ministers offices, the Ministry of Health, the Health Assurance Unit and other public sector agencies
• ensuring the CE is kept well informed and connected to the business, leading and coordinating the response to urgent issues, and identifying and supporting the mitigation of risk

Your problem-solving and decision-making skills consistently lead to successful outcomes.Experience operating in politically sensitive contexts at Board and Ministerial levels enhances your credibility.
