The organisation is rooted in strong partnerships, quality assurance, and green-minded operations-ensuring perishable goods are delivered fresh, intact, and on time .Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Business Services Manager plays a pivotal role in steering the company’s administrative, operational, financial, and staffing functions. This position demands a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can develop efficient systems, support resource planning, and champion sustainable best practices. As a central point of contact, the role also entails liaising with external stakeholders, representing the company at industry events, and promoting policies and programmes that align with corporate goals.The ideal candidate will establish administrative framework, manage budgets, and drive continuous process improvements that support the organisation’s growth. In a closely-knit transport operation, this role holds significant influence, requiring both detail orientation and the capacity to manage multiple resource streams-from facilities and finances to personnel and IT.Key Responsibilities
- Identify and lead new initiatives to optimise growth and efficiency
- Lead, manage and develop staff to ensure smooth business operations and the provision of accurate and timely information
- Provide high level administrative, operational, and strategic support to senior management
- Conduct research and deliver informed advice on staff oversight, budgeting, facilities, and IT
- Design and manage administrative, financial, and physical resource allocation
- Develop and execute internal procedural guidelines for administration, finances, and operations
- Analyse complex resource management scenarios and draft accompanying reports and submissions
- Support the finance team in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and reports
- Lead, mentor, and manage admin and operational staff to ensure optimal performance
- Oversee facility management, ensuring the fleet and premises meet quality and compliance standards
- Monitor and optimise inventory, assets, and resource planning systems
- Represent the company in supplier negotiations, industry seminars, public forums, and conventions
- Promote and implement new programs and policy initiatives aligned with business strategy
- Evaluate vendor contracts, services, and solutions to maximise efficiency and cost savings
Skills & Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Finance, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in operations, administration, or corporate services (ideally in transport/logistics)
- Demonstrated track record in strategic planning, budget management, and resource allocation
- Exceptional analytical, research, and report-writing skills
- Proven leadership and staff management capabilities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Sound knowledge of financial systems, preferably with exposure to transport/logistics budgeting
- Familiarity with facility management and logistics operations
- Proven ability to implement process improvements, drive efficiency, and deliver measurable results
- High integrity, accountability, and commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainability
