Tēnei tūranga – About the Role:The Our Future Services programme will deliver a more cost-effective immigration system that is more productive, more effective at managing immigration risk, and provides a better experience for our customers and staff.The programme will be delivered through multiple workstreams working in parallel, with each workstream implementing key initiatives with set milestone dates.You will be part of the Business Analytics and Targeting team in the Immigration Risk and Border Branch within Immigration New Zealand. You will report to the Team Leader, Business Analytics and Targeting.You will be responsible for maintaining business rules to support the visa risk targeting system which the Business Analytics and Targeting team administers. This role would suit a candidate wanting to begin a career in business rules management at the intersection of ICT and operations. The Business Rules Author will receive on-the-job training to develop and test business rules. The role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a fast-paced and diverse business, in a positive and rewarding team environment.Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana –Skills and Experience Required

• Ability to translate business rule requirements into implementable rules (logic statements) within a rule’s engine.
• A good understanding of syntax, vocabulary, and logic in a rule’s engine, or similar tool.
• Experience working with data.
• Experience developing and testing business rules using rules engine software preferred.
• Ability to develop the governance and rule management processes and procedures for use by analysts to manage rules.
• Ability to work independently, a can-do attitude, and can quickly assimilate new information or areas of work.
• Communicates effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A tertiary qualification or extensive, comparable relevant experience in data analytics and / or query tools.
• Must be a NZ citizen or hold a residence class visa.
