Job description: Company DescriptionThe purpose of the Business Improvement Unit is to support all HCC business units to improve customer service, community outcomes and organisational performance.Reporting to the Head of Business Improvement you will work as part of the team who are responsible for building organisational capability in business process and improvement.Job DescriptionHe angituutanga: The opportunityWe are seeking an experienced Business Improvement Advisor to join our team in Hamilton, New Zealand. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across our organisation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across the organisation, helping our people to understand the importance of the work of the Business Improvement Unit and the part they play.
- Promote, embed and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Analyze existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map processes, conduct root cause analysis, and implement improvement initiatives.
- Utilise data analysis and reporting tools to measure and track the effectiveness of process improvements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.

- Proven experience in business analysis, process improvement, or operational excellence roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Excellent data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) are preferred.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to the organization’s operations.
