Through co-operation with IKEA Supply Areas, we are also represented at several other sites around the world.Job DescriptionAs part of the Category Management, you will actively contribute to the development of the long-term Category Business Plan. The objectives are to deliver excellent results in purchasing by leading purchasing teams and establish professional long term business development with our suppliers. Additionally, a very important part of your assignment will be to inspire and empower the co-workers in your team to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments.QualificationsAs Business Development Manager your main assignments will be:

  • Through IKEA way of doing business, be responsible to secure right pre-conditions and lead to achieve professional long term business development and excellent results. Accountable for professional and long-term relationship with suppliers through IKEA way of doing business, based on a shared business model, trust and transparency
  • Set the business direction with clear Action Plan(s) to improve and develop business and supplier performance and deliver to the Category Business Plan.
  • Lead the competence agenda, including recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession plans for co-workers in your team to meet short- and long-term business needs
  • Establish and manage cost budget for the team, optimally utilizing resources to secure business goals and ensure organizational efficiency.

  • Lead on an operational, as well as strategic level always keeping the holistic view in mind.
  • Be fluent in English, both in written and spoken, and comfortable in presenting and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Additional Information

  • This position will be based in Prague, the Czech Republic.
  • Travelling is a part of the assignment since our Business Development Managers need work closely with our suppliers.
