Job description: Job Description:We are looking for a highly motivated Business Continuity Manager, with knowledge in Construction Project Management, to join our team and ensure the business continuity throughout the whole project, including renovation and construction phases, while supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of the project,. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying potential risks to business operations, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring that construction activities minimize disruption to the Employer’s Compound. This position requires strong project management skills, expertise in business continuity, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across teams. As the key member of the Business Continuity Management Team (BCMT), the candidate will be responsible for maintaining a seamless flow of communication, implementing mitigation plans, and ensuring the project adheres to health, safety, and quality standards.Responsibilities:Reporting to: Senior Project ManagerLocation: Switzerland (preferably Geneva or commutable to Geneva 3-4 days a week)Package: Competitive remuneration package with possibilities for career development within a dynamic international working environment
- Support the Project Management, Design, and Construction teams in planning, monitoring, and controlling all aspects of the SHP project, including pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
- Identify potential risks to business continuity and work with contractors and stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding activities that may affect the business continuity and gather information on their operations impacting construction.
- Ensure that the contractor’s plan and programme schedule minimizes disruption to UNOG operations and complies with Health and Safety regulations.
- Actively contribute to the Business Continuity Management Team (BCMT), supporting crisis response planning and continuity strategies.
- Organize and manage site meetings with contractors and stakeholders ensuring effective coordination and timely issue resolution.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to develop and implement quality assurance procedures for SHP. Monitor contractor’s activities to ensure quality execution of the works and compliance with timelines.
- Prepare monthly progress reports and action plans aligned with the SHP Project Director’s objectives.
- Coordinate and follow-up of the snagging list activities, minimizing business continuity disruptions once the section has been handed-over to the Employer.
Qualifications:
- Advanced university degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field. At least 7 years in the construction industry in projects related to a new construction and/or renovation. A first-level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Experience in dealing with project stakeholders and business continuity requirements.
- Experience in managing daily activities of project teams.
- Good communication, decision making and judgement skills.
- A good understanding of all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. French is a plus.
