Through integration and collaboration, we’re building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleThe Business Case Writer plays a key advisory and delivery role within the Digital Investment team, supporting the development of strategic, high-quality business cases that align with Treasury’s Better Business Case processes. Working closely with the Group Manager Digital Investment, Business Case Lead, and a range of stakeholders, the role is instrumental in ensuring business case documentation meets required standards for successful approval and award of funding. This includes navigating processes such as Gateway reviews, Cabinet submissions, and Budget cycles.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe Business Case Writer is part of the Digital Investment team which comes under the broader Digital Health Strategy & Design function – a collaborative, forward-thinking group focused on stakeholder engagement and strategic investment. The team works closely with Regional Digital Directors, Clinical Informatics Directors, and other key partners to develop digital service roadmaps and adaptable solution designs. By leveraging specialist expertise and strong partnerships, the team ensures investment decisions deliver outcomes that are affordable, sustainable, and equitable across Health New Zealand.About youAs an experienced advisor with a background in developing business cases, ideally within a health or government environment, you will bring strong analytical and writing skills, sound judgement, and an ability to produce clear, strategic, and well-structured documentation. You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role:
