The role | Te tūngaThis is a fixed term role until the end of 2026 and can be based in either Christchurch or Wellington. Reporting to the Unit Manager – Group Planning & Support within the Knowledge Management Workstream. The Knowledge Management workstream is about working collaboratively with Subject Matter Expert teams to ensure that Insights & Statistics critical knowledge assets are captured within the Products & Services Knowledge Base and promote good documentation practices through training and guidance.The key focus of this role will be on developing content within the internally facing Stats NZ Products and Services Knowledge Base to support building statistical capability and documenting the current state business processes particularly within our Macroeconomic Statistical delivery Branch.We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and so this this role would suit someone who has:

• Previous experience working in an information/knowledge management role
• Experience using MS Visio to create process maps and Microsoft SharePoint Online to create user friendly content
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analysis and design and customer engagement skills, and attention to detail
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and utilise an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery,
• The ability to break down large and complex information into bite size chunks and convey the concepts clearly and simply – experience working in a data focused environment would be beneficial, and
• An understanding of the machinery of government and related processes and procedures.
