Job description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst Finance Systems to join a highly respected organisation in Sydney, where your expertise will directly influence the efficiency and success of both IT and Finance business units. This role is perfect for someone who comes from an accounting background who has worked in finace projects and ERP enhancements and wants to shift to a business analyst role working on enhancements, changes and business proccess optimisation.What you’ll do:As a Finance Systems Business Analyst based in Sydney, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation’s financial technology landscape. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with various departments to understand their needs, documenting precise requirements that inform solution design, and supporting the implementation of enhancements that streamline operations. You will be responsible for creating clear user documentation and test scripts while also providing hands-on training to ensure all users are confident with new processes. By monitoring system performance and proactively seeking out areas for improvement, you will help maintain high standards of compliance and operational excellence. Your ability to communicate effectively across teams will be essential as you guide projects from conception through delivery while fostering an inclusive environment where everyone’s voice is valued.

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document detailed business requirements for finance systems, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, IT, and operations to identify opportunities for system improvements and facilitate effective communication throughout project life cycles.
• Perform thorough data analysis to support decision-making processes by identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for enhancement within finance systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation such as user guides, process flows, and technical specifications to ensure accessibility for all relevant parties.
• Provide tailored training sessions and ongoing support to end-users to promote proficiency in finance systems usage while addressing any issues promptly.
• Ensure that all finance systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices by conducting regular audits and assessments to address compliance gaps.
• Assist in planning, testing, and implementing system upgrades or new finance system roll outs to guarantee seamless integration without disrupting business operations.
• Continuously monitor the performance of finance systems to identify potential issues or inefficiencies and recommend actionable solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to finance systems management.

What you bring:To excel as a Finance Systems Business Analyst in this role, you will bring proven experience navigating complex finance environments where analytical thinking meets practical application. You have demonstrated success delivering results on large-scale projects involving system upgrades or new implementations-ideally within the property sector or similar industries.

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst specialising in finance systems or experience as an accountant working on fiance projects (system optimisation, ERP implementation.. etc)
• Experience within the property industry is highly regarded but not essential; exposure to similar sectors will also be considered favourably.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritising tasks efficiently ensures deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality.
• Meticulous attention to detail supports accuracy in documentation creation as well as data analysis activities critical for informed decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills combined with strong interpersonal abilities enable you to work collaboratively within teams or independently as required.
