Job description: Our client is a top financial institution with significant North American holdings. They have operations across most major verticals, including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private client, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.Introduction: Robertson is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our client.Contract Dates: 6 months
Pay Range: $50 to $55 per hour
Business Hours: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial and contract analysis to support and maintain adherence to strategy and develop reports and presentations utilizing analytical findings that support planning and decision-making and address the needs of Senior Management and The Board and support planning and decision-making
- Identify, assess and recommend solutions for financial issues that impact property acquisition reporting. In addition, provide ad hoc reports (E.g. variance cost analysis, reconciliation of account)
- Create financial models, apply reporting templates, and automate processes to meet corporate standards
- Provide Manager, Property Acquisition Controls and property Acquisitions teams with financial analysis and associated financial reporting within required deadlines
- Process updated approval submission memos and project budgets tables for each settlement to ensure approvals and sufficient funding are in place
- Review and summarize contracts, legal documentation, the Expropriations Act and other relevant documentation pertinent to the acquisition
- Work closely with the in-house property data management database (PETRA) to ensure information is correctly reflected in all reports
- Manage the Month-end and Year-end phase of projects property acquisition ensuring all accrual entries are correct and meet the required protocols
- Lead the analysis and delivery of financial reporting by reconciling cost accrued, forecasting expenditures, and identifying variances; present data in dashboards, charts, graphs and/or tables to capture and present meaningful information/data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes for use by management in identifying and implementing process improvements
- Work to ensure transparency and identify process for improvement, and helps implement measures to rectify deficiencies in process, protocol, and procedures
Experience & Qualification Requirements:
- Completion of a degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in real estate, property accounting, finance, financial analysis and reporting, preferably with a real estate environment
- Experience in using systems and applications, such as Excel (advanced), Power BI, Oracle, Unifier, Ecosys, Visio, Word, PowerPoint or similar
- Experience in accounting, financial analysis, reporting principles and practices in large complex projects
- Experience in month-end, project forecast and capital budget
