Reporting to the General Manager of Investment, the Branch Head for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Investment is a member of Austrade’s Senior Executive Service (SES) and plays a critical leadership role in building strategy, capability and executing Austrade’s foreign investment attraction mandate.The Europe remit covers the United Kingdom, continental Europe and Israel. The Middle East and Africa remit also covers Pakistan.The role works closely with the General Managers for Europe and MEA, the General Manager Government, as well as colleagues across Austrade’s trade and policy teams and a broad and diverse range of external companies and stakeholders. The investment promotion agencies across States and Territories are key partners for this role.As one of three investment regional branch heads based in Australia, the position leads a team in Australia responsible for targeting and influencing foreign direct investment (FDI) by companies across Europe and the Middle East; and for developing commercial insights to inform policy and Australia’s competitiveness as an investment destination.The role also has a strategic responsibility for Austrade’s investment work in energy and net zero transformation.
