Job description: Intro AVVie is an exciting early-stage medical device company with an innovative, minimally invasive technology for the treatment of mitral valve disease. If you are interested in joining a young and international start-up active in medical technology in Vienna. Tasks Primary responsibility is to design, execute, and analyze experimental setups to support the development and validation of transcatheter mitral valve devices in our Vienna prototyping lab contribute to product development and validation projects Conduct research and technical evaluations of the company’s products Design and development of testing equipment for product validation Create protocols and testing reports of product testing and present results Suggestion of product improvements based on testing results Support with the industrialization and continued production throughout the life-cycle of our medical products Take ownership of laboratory equipment and testing facilities Mentoring and guiding of other team members on test relevant tasks Working and documenting compliant with MDR, ISO 13485:2016/A11:2021, FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and AVVie’s IMS processes Collaborate with the other teams (especially QM, Regulatory, Medical) to ensure that the products are designed in a technically-valid and clinically-relevant manner Participate in technical assessment, qualification and selection of external partners / vendors Assessment, qualification and selection of external testing partners Other duties assigned by direct supervisor Requirements Work experience and education in Biomedical Engineering (Master level), or similar. 3+ years of experience in product development (design, test and release) Capability to set up experiments for Implants Experience in Bio-Simulator Well-organized with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy Have a positive and resilient attitude Comfortable working both independently and on a team, within a fast-paced and flexible startup environment Great communication skills internally and externally Fluent in English at a professional level Comfortable building your own structures and aligning them with company goals Great analytical skills, as well as ability to cross-relate information from different topics and areas (RA, biotech, medical, product development …) Ability to adapt changes, as well as to work under pressure and tight deadlines
