Your Role, Your ImpactAs Billing Specialist, you will manage the billing process for FirstPort from regular contractual income through to ad hoc invoicing. You will also be required to support the credit control team in ensuring that overdue invoices are followed up and paid whilst working collaboratively across the team to ensure invoicing is accurate and timely, maximising the cash collection for FirstPort. We’d also like you to develop collaborative working relationships within FirstPort and with external partners.Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice generation, updating recurring contracts database and processing ad-hoc payments
- Bank reconciliations, corporate banking and following up overdue invoices to ensure these are paid
- Preparation and maintenance of Corporate Finance billing schedules and reporting
- Ensure financial information is available, complete and accurate
- Assist with the mobilisation and demobilisation of client portfolios
- Understand and review key business systems and processes and support in implementing new ways of working
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required within the FirstPort finance team
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Working towards a professional accounting qualification such as AAT would be an advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in an accounting role is essential
- A good understanding of account procedures and processes
- Computer literacy is essential, particularly Excel
- Accurate and numerate
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Team player and able to lead by example
- Attention to detail
- Have a positive and motivational attitude
- Flexible approach
- Use of initiative in problem solving
- Ability to resolve queries and complaints promptly and effectively
