Job title: Associate – Loan Services

Company: Robert Walters

Job description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Loan Services professional to join a highly respected global real estate and finance organisation in Sydney. This role offers you the chance to work at the heart of debt and structured finance, supporting lender clients and borrowers with comprehensive loan management, monitoring, and reporting services. What you’ll do:As an Associate Loan Services professional based in Sydney, you will play a pivotal role in supporting lender clients through the full lifecycle of loan administration. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing a diverse portfolio of loans, ensuring each is set up correctly on the servicing platform, handling complex calculations related to interest and fees, as well as reconciling accounts with precision. You will be responsible for monitoring key financial covenants, preparing detailed reports for both domestic and international stakeholders, coordinating fund transfers in line with strict compliance standards, and maintaining up-to-date documentation. Success in this role requires you to build strong relationships with both borrowers and internal teams across multiple regions while delivering timely responses to requests. Your ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously-always with fastidious attention to detail-will ensure that service standards are consistently met or exceeded. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment where accuracy, communication skills, and client focus are paramount.

  • Manage a portfolio of loans on behalf of third-party lender clients by overseeing new loan set-up processes on the dedicated loan servicing platform.
  • Calculate, collect, and remit interest and fees accurately while ensuring all financial transactions are reconciled within established timelines.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on loan covenants to ensure compliance with servicing agreements and regulatory requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and analyse detailed loan reporting requirements for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all loan documents and manage bank account reconciliations to support accurate fund transfers.
  • Prepare and check monthly and quarterly domestic and international fund transfers using ANZ Transactive in accordance with servicing agreements and AFSL requirements.
  • Process lender and borrower requests promptly while adhering strictly to agreed service standards.
  • Produce comprehensive monthly and quarterly reports for lenders as stipulated by servicing agreements.
  • Liaise directly with borrowers to procure necessary information according to loan agreements or as requested by lenders.
  • Communicate regularly with global Loan Services teams across the US and EMEA regions to fulfil international client reporting obligations.

What you bring:To excel as an Associate Loan Services professional, you will bring hands-on experience from either loan administration or the broader real estate sector. Your background will demonstrate your capability in managing intricate stakeholder relationships-balancing the needs of lenders, borrowers, auditors, and internal colleagues alike. You will have honed your analytical abilities through interpreting legal contracts or financial agreements under tight deadlines. Advanced computer literacy is essential; you should feel comfortable producing detailed spreadsheets, clear reports, and engaging presentations using Microsoft Office tools. Your approach is defined by reliability: others depend on your thoroughness when it comes to documentation management or reconciling accounts. While relevant academic qualifications such as those in finance or accounting are beneficial-and may give you an edge-they are complemented by your practical experience navigating compliance frameworks. Above all else, your success will stem from your ability to communicate clearly across cultures and time zones while remaining sensitive to client needs. Your enthusiasm for learning new systems or contributing ideas for process improvement will make you an invaluable member of this collaborative team.

  • Experience in loan administration or within the real estate industry is highly desirable as it enables you to navigate complex financial arrangements confidently.
  • A proven track record of managing multiple stakeholders effectively ensures you can balance competing priorities while maintaining high service standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply real estate contracts or agreements allows you to deliver precise outcomes for clients under absolute deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) empowers you to produce accurate reports and presentations efficiently.
  • The capacity to work independently within compliance boundaries means you can resolve issues responsibly without direct supervision.
  • Exceptional organisational skills enable you to manage several tasks simultaneously while delivering results on time every time.
  • Meticulous attention to detail ensures all aspects of loan management are handled accurately from documentation through reconciliation.
  • Relevant qualifications in Finance or Banking provide a solid foundation for understanding complex lending structures (preferred).
  • Qualifications or experience in Real Estate or Development further enhance your ability to interpret industry-specific requirements (preferred).
  • Accounting or bookkeeping qualifications are advantageous as they support your ability to manage financial records precisely (preferred).
