This position offers a unique opportunity to shape your academic career by contributing to a growing discipline, teach an increasing student cohort, and develop innovative research.As an Associate Lecturer in Architecture, you will engage in a range of academic activities, including the development, design, and delivery of teaching in relevant areas. You will enhance your research expertise and scholarship portfolio, contribute to the School’s research outcomes, and supervise undergraduate (Honours) and postgraduate (Masters and PhD) students as appropriate.To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate excellence in teaching and a high level of energy and commitment to further developing a research profile that is fresh and relevant to the particular discipline.This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Western’s Parramatta City Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.About YouWe are looking for individuals who bring energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching. The ideal candidate will be an academic with considerable relevant experience, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in current and emerging interdisciplinary content applicable to teaching and research in architecture and construction. You will be well-versed in both the local context and international cutting-edge design practice. The role requires the ability to teach design across all levels in the architecture studio.You will be eligible for registration as an Architect in Australia, with a portfolio of design projects and/or creative work and an awareness of digital software related to architecture and design.EligibilitySuccessful candidates will be subject to a two-year confirmation period and must provide evidence at the time of application that they:

  • are an Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander person; and
  • hold a Masters degree or demonstrated substantial completion towards completion of a higher qualification; and
  • have not previously held an ongoing position with an Australian Higher Education provider in the previous 3 years.
