- Leads the delivery of the Stakeholder Management team/s on the assigned commission(s).
- Supports the Hub PMO and Project Control Director with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.
- Accountable for the Stakeholder Management Service performance on assigned commission(s).
- Creates/designs effective Stakeholder Management Communications Service framework(s)/strategy(s).
- Manages and directs clients, consultants, contractors, project team on all Stakeholder Management Service matters.
- Provides expert technical/functional advice and builds strong professional relationships with Client organisations.
- Acts as the Subject Matter Expert on assigned project(s)/programme(s)/portfolio(s).
- Leads and directs team in the administration of all related processes including managing change, risks, issues and reporting to achieve key objectives and the escalation of performance and management issues.
- Ensures all activities/operations are carried out in line with Mace Control Centre, Client requirements and prevailing regulations and legislation.
- Provides line management to more junior team members and other Project/Programme staff as required.
- Utilises expertise to mentor and assist the personal and career development of team.
- Innovates and aligns with industry best practice to ensure continued service excellence.
- Manages a team of professional roles (& may include support roles), driving performance and results, whilst delivering performance management, technical development and coaching.
You’ll need to have:
- Significant experience of effective leadership across the teams.
- Extensive knowledge of functional best practices, processes and current trends, on significant construction projects.
- Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty or ambiguity providing effective consultancy to clients and other key stakeholders to drive effective outcome(s).
- Significant experience of setting up effective stakeholder management, communications, consents management and interface management frameworks/strategies.
- Expert knowledge of relevant methodologies, processes, tools, techniques and software.
- Strong understanding of construction projects, dependencies and interfaces within the project lifecycle.
- Deep domain knowledge of providing risk leadership in multiple sectors (e.g. rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form working relationships.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence others.
- Proven ability to articulate complex information and ideas for a non-technical audience.
- Manages, influences and negotiates with senior stakeholders (up to C-Suite).Strong attention to detail and the ability to ‘deep dive’ into topics.
- Ability to solve challenging problems.
- Leads by example and may be a Mace Behaviours Champion.
- Commercial acumen in relation to business development and bids/winning work.
- Expertise in setting a vision and direction for risk management within their Portfolio(s).

- At least 10 yrs experience (or equivalent) as Stakeholder & Communications Services leader delivering a range of project management services on major construction programmes/portfolios.
- Chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership of professional a relevant professional institution e.g. Association of Project Manager.
You’ll also have:
- Practical application, and understanding of the opportunities related to data analytics and intelligent reporting, CRM/SRM and other tools.
- Experience of working client side as well as consultancy.
- Very high political and cultural acuity.
- Creating and delivering persuasive and engaging presentations to wide range of audiences in our industry.
- Relevant university degree (e.g. construction, engineering) or equivalent. Chartered (or equivalent) membership of relevant professional institution(s) e.g. Association of Project Managers.
- Actively engages with peers out with Mace within professional bodies and other forum to maintain professional knowledge and work across industry to advance the profession.
