Job description: Job SummaryJob DescriptionJob DescriptionAre you pursuing your Master of Real Estate and Infrastructure (MREI) program or Master of Business Administration (MBA) and are 1 – 2 years away from graduation? Are you interested in an opportunity to explore our Commercial Banking environment and possibly work your way into a full-time role in Personal and Commercial Banking at graduation?RBC’s Real Estate Markets team offers an unique student internship program that will allow a successful student to gain insight into Commercial Banking and Commercial Relationship Management by managing financing needs for some of RBC’s most highly valued commercial real estate clients.RBC’s Real Estate Markets team manages relationships, including lending requirements and day-to-day banking needs, for some of Canada’s largest private real estate companies. We are part of a digitally enabled relationship bank, providing trusted strategic advice to our clients and supporting a fast-paced and exciting industry in the GTA market and beyond.Here’s how it works:

  • Interested candidates are requested apply with their Resume and Cover Letter by no later than February 14, 2025:
  • Start date – May 5, 2025, participate in a modified training module for Commercial Relationship Managers
  • End date – August 22, 2025

Note: This program is best fit for Interns who are returning to school or have an ‘Internship’ as a mandatory requirement to graduate. There is also an opportunity to convert this internship role to a fulltime permanent role with RBC.What you’ll need to succeed:Must-have:

  • Client focus / client-first attitude;
  • Willingness to develop commercial credit, financial statement analysis and core underwriting skills;
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts and applications;
  • Strong computer skills (especially Microsoft Excel);
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills;
  • Inquisitive and quick to learn
  • Comfort in a target-driven environment, with a knack for spotting opportunities;
  • Motivated proactive thinker with detail-oriented and creative problem solving approach;
  • Eagerness to learn and succeed and comfort working in a team environment
  • Regularly working collaboratively and in-person in an office environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Sales experience (ideal but not essential)
  • Basic industry / market knowledge, and strong interest, in the commercial real estate sector
