The primary responsibility will be to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting processes across multiple entities within the company. You will collaborate with various departments, including FP&A, accounting, and tax, to streamline activities and maintain strong internal controls.This role is based in Copenhagen and reports directly to the Senior Director of Accounting Operations, who is located in Princeton, NJ.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations:Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.Ensure that all accounting operations (e.g., general ledger, fixed assets, cash, etc) are executed in accordance with established accounting principles and company policies.Monitor and improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes, minimizing errors and delays.Drive the completion of projects and initiatives including, but not limited to the implementation of Blackline JE Module and the Close Acceleration Project.Process Improvement & Efficiency:Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting functions, identifying inefficiencies and implementing streamlined processes, automation, and best practices.Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology tools to enhance reporting capabilities and accounting workflows.Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate accounting systems with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and ensure smooth data flows.Compliance & Internal Controls:Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and other relevant financial regulations.Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.Coordinate internal and external audits, working closely with auditors to address any issues or findings.Leadership & Team Management:Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10+ accounting professionals, including hiring, training, performance management, and career development.Set clear goals and performance expectations for the team, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.10+ years of experience in accounting or financeBlackline experience preferredStrong understanding of accounting principles, including consolidation, foreign exchange, and transfer pricing.Proficiency in SAP and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders.Proven leadership experience, including the ability to mentor and develop a team.About You
