Steps away from the main public transit stationWhat we offer:Highly competitive compensation package which includes, base salary, bonus, benefits, and career advancement opportunities!*Eligibility for benefits is dependent on the terms of employmentThe OpportunityThe Associate Analyst is responsible for ensuring cheque and electronic payment transactions are accurately posted to the mortgage loan, reconciled to bank records and deposits processed to the bank accounts in accordance with company policy.How you will contribute:

  • Uploading overnight reports to Trust Accounting software
  • Scan cheques for electronic bank deposit and deliver cheques to bank for deposit, as required
  • Post electronic and cheque transactions to mortgage loan records
  • Post bank receipts to accounting system
  • Reconcile transactions to accounting system
  • Review system reports and transfer funds on loan record
  • Process electronic transaction requests to bank system
  • Download bank reports for posting and audit retention
  • Report, investigate and resolve unidentified receipts on bank statement
  • Review receipts in accordance with AML guidelines
  • Respond to all inquiries within established turnaround times
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Provide support in other areas of Mortgage Accounting Department
  • Assist with special projects or other administration matters as assigned by Manager, Mortgage Accounting
  • Adheres to policies/procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, when applicable

The experience you need:

  • Completed post secondary education and/or equivalent work experience required
  • Accounting courses and/or experience an asset
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Previous experience within Mortgage industry an asset
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Strong aptitude for service excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Positive team player who also works well independently
  • Fully competent in MS Office; capacity to learn new technologies/systems
  • Ability to manage pressure in an environment of high volume transaction review

Working Environment and Physical Demands Analysis:

  • Office environment
  • Periods of high volume with tight timelines
  • Long periods of stationary position/sitting
  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)
  • Long periods of time in viewing a computer screen
  • Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.
