The goal is to unlock the full potential in each colleague – empowering our people to grow as insurance professionals and add more value to our customers and AIG.How you will create an impactThe Assistant Underwriting Manager, Financial Lines is responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of Financial Lines insurance products, including Directors and Officers (D&O) Liability, Professional Indemnity/Errors and Omissions (PI/E&O), Cyber, Crime, Financial Institutions, Initial Public Offering (IPO), Crisis Solutions, and other related lines This role involves assessing complex risks, determining appropriate terms and conditions, and building strong relationships with brokers and clients. The Assistant Manager will also contribute to the development of underwriting strategies, mentor junior underwriters, and support the overall growth and profitability of the Financial Lines business in the Philippines and Guam.Underwrite new and renewal Financial Lines business in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and authority levels for both Philippines and Guam.Evaluate complex risks, including analyzing financial statements, company performance, and industry trends.Determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions for insurance policies.Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers, cedants, agents and clients.Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and initiatives.Mentor and train junior underwriters, providing guidance and support.Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and other departments as needed.Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks.Participate in business development activities, including marketing and presentations.Handle all Financial Lines products.Report to the Profit Center Manager on portfolio performance, market trends, and underwriting strategies.Assist the Profit Center Manager in developing and implementing business plans and budgets.Deputize for the Profit Center Manager as needed.What you’ll need to succeedBachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.Experience in Financial Lines underwriting.Strong knowledge of Financial Lines insurance products, underwriting principles, and industry practices.Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills.Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret financial statements.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting systems.Strong understanding of local insurance regulations and compliance requirements.Tenacious, motivated, proactiveLeadership or mentoring experienceReady to take your career to the next level?
