MIDDAY ON WEDNESDAY, 22 JANUARY 2025Job DescriptionExmouth is one of the few areas in Australia that can boast the Reef to Range experience. Adjacent the Cape Range National Park, the diving and snorkelling paradise of Ningaloo Marine Park attracts thousands of tourists every year.We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Operations Officer to join our team.Under the immediate supervision of the District Coordinator Conservation, you will:

  • Assist with the management and implementation of conservation and fire management works programs and operations within the Exmouth district.
  • Assist with parks and visitor services programs as required.
  • Monitor and report on allocated operations.
  • Liaise with community, key stakeholders and community groups in a positive and informed manner.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of allocated works programs to agreed standards and timeframes.

The position can operate across all the services within the district of the region depending upon the development program engaged in and the operational needs of the region.At DBCA, we have adopted which provides a common understanding of the mindsets and expected behaviours required of all our employees and the public sector. In this role, you will demonstrate to help drive positive change.Selection CriteriaApplicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total. * Some knowledge (Level 1) and experience (Level 2) in working in conservation land management and biodiversity conservation or a closely related field or a related technical area, with a preference for some experience of working on conservation in an arid environment.

  • Broad understanding of the issues involved in planning and implementing works programs in remote locations.
  • Evidence of well-developed interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills with an ability and willingness to work closely with the community, indigenous and special interest groups.
  • Evidence of some proficiency in computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets and data processing with a preference for knowledge and experience with GPS and GIS applications.
