Job description: Assistant Finance Manager (Financial Reporting & IFRS, Malaysia) Our client is a listed Malaysian entity in the projects industry with a strong presence across Southeast Asia. They are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to support their financial reporting and closing activities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing Assist in group consolidation, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and other key finance areas. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and compliance reports. Ensure all financial transactions comply with IFRS standards and company policies. Audit & Compliance Liaise with external and internal auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes. Address audit queries and provide supporting documentation for financial controls and compliance. Assist in reviewing and updating finance policies and procedures to align with IFRS and industry best practices. Process Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with finance teams across SEA to support regional reporting requirements. Identify areas for process improvement and enhance efficiency in financial reporting. Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data consolidation. Key Requirements: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualifications such as CA is a must. 2-3 years of experience in financial reporting and month-end closing, ideally in a project-based industry. Strong audit background from a Big 4 accounting firm. Solid understanding of IFRS standards, with hands-on experience in financial reporting and compliance. Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently. Experience working in an MNC or listed entity in Malaysia is an advantage. Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
