Our client is a leading Irish charity providing specialist services all throughout Ireland. They are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join them on a contract basis.The Head Office is in Dublin City Centre and the role will be on a hybrid basis of 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. The role will report to the Finance Manager.Key Responsibilities:
- Complete ownership of accounts receivable function for the organisation ensuring state funders requirements are adhered too
- Preparation of journal entries and maintain accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
- Work to month end deadlines and preparation of month end reports
- Preparation of quarterly financial returns to funding authorities for review by management
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with year-end audit process
- Assisting with internal audit process
- Ad hoc accounting and administrative work as required
- To attend and contribute to team and agency meetings as required
- To undertake other work that is assigned by the line manager or Director
- To participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with your manager
- To be vigilant to any Health, Safety, and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your manager or Health & Safety Representative
Essential Criteria:
- Third level Degree in Accountancy, Commerce or a relevant field or extensive experience working in a Finance department
- Ambitious, energetic, and motivated individual
- Must have a “can do” attitude
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- A team player with excellent attention to detail
- Be trustworthy and conduct the role with integrity
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in Exchequer would be an advantage
- Currently pursuing professional qualification in the area of Finance / Accounting
