Job description: Job Title: Asset Integrity Technician/EngineerJob DescriptionBased in Red Deer, AB with travel required near Rocky Mountain House, AB, we are seeking an Asset Integrity Technologist/Engineer to join our team. This position operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and reports to the Field Supervisor. You will have the opportunity to manage a wide variety of assets throughout their full lifecycle, from design and commissioning to close-down and decommissioning. This role offers substantial career development potential and the chance to take ownership and responsibility for your production area.Responsibilities

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of upstream pipeline integrity management.
  • Apply risk assessment methodologies to ensure assets remain at an acceptable level concerning safety, environmental impact, compliance, reliability, and economic loss.
  • Collaborate with other Asset Integrity team members, Operations, Production, Engineering, and Management to deliver effective Asset Integrity Management programs addressing all Asset Integrity threats.
  • Implement corrosion control programs, inspection programs, monitoring programs, metallurgical upgrades, design/process changes, and detection and measurement systems.
  • Proactively analyze inspection results, failure investigation findings, risk assessment results, and process conditions to ensure key degradation mechanisms are understood and appropriate mitigation and monitoring techniques are in place.
  • Oversee the corrosion monitoring program and chemical inhibition program.
  • Coordinate cathodic protection of pipelines and associated equipment.
  • Maintain inspection schedules to aid in annual budgeting.
  • Reconcile and update equipment inventory databases.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, including repair procedures, to minimize downtime.
  • Work with vendors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Liaise with regulators.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant oil and gas industry experience.
  • Understanding of pipeline corrosion, pressure equipment, and tank maintenance.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards, including AER and ABSA.
  • Field experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications and integrity management software systems such as Accumap, Abacus, or Maximo.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear logical support for work.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical degree or diploma with professional or certified designation (considered an asset).
  • Inspection background, specifically in regulatory compliance and creative problem-solving (considered an asset).
  • Pipeline experience and NACE/AMPP corrosion courses (considered an asset).
  • Working knowledge of pipeline codes and standards, including CSA Z662, provincial and federal jurisdictional directives or regulations.
  • Experience with pipeline maintenance work coordination.
  • API certifications (considered an asset).

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an office environment in Red Deer, with required travel to site locations as needed. The role offers stability with a guaranteed 12-month contract and potential for extension.
