About the Business Unit:Corrections Victoria is a business unit of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). The Beechworth Correctional Centre is a minimum-security facility with a focus on preparing individuals for release and successful reintegration back into society. It offers various working industries with the men given the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will effectively link them to employment on release. When not engaged in work, the men attend rehabilitative programs to address their offending behaviour, engage in education and visits whilst many also engage in recreation and community assistance programs.About the Role:The position of Assessment and Transition Coordinator is situated within the Programs Team at each prison.Some of your duties will include:

• Participating in the development, coordination and delivery of prisoner risk assessment, parole application and pre-release services within a prison location
• Undertaking prisoner risk assessments and needs assessments, coordinating prisoner’s applications for parole and contributing to the Case Management Review process
• Supporting the delivery of the CV Reintegration Program at the prison location.

• Demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners
• Demonstrated ability to administer risk assessment tools with individual prisoners
• Demonstrated capacity or aptitude to work with clients who are difficult to engage individually and in group work settings
• Capacity to work collaboratively within a prison setting.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Experience in and/or understanding of working within a correctional environment.
