With events and activities for a diverse public that enliven, educate and entertain, we welcome visitors year-round, passionately dedicated to nurturing creativity, fostering connection and bringing learning to life.We are currently seeking a collaborative, dynamic and highly organized Arts & Culture Manager to support the planning, execution and oversight of diverse and multidisciplinary programming.Position Title: Arts & Culture ManagerDepartment: Arts, Culture & LearningReporting To: Head of Arts, Culture & LearningType of Employment: 5-month contract, June – October 2025Number of Vacancies: 1Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, with a work schedule that requires the flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends as per programming needsCompensation: $25-$27 per hourLocation: On-site at our waterfront campus in downtown TorontoDUTIES

  • Research and identify key contacts and organizations to assist in meeting programming objectives.
  • Work during events to supervise, liaise with staff on-site and evaluate the success of the offered programs.
  • Liaise with partnering cultural organizations and departments to suggest and access programming opportunities that align with the mission of both the Partner and Harbourfront Centre.
  • Inform partner groups of program requirements and costs, collaborating with them to produce a schedule and offering programming recommendations in order to produce successful events.
  • Liaise with Harbourfront Centre’s Marketing team and with partnering groups to ensure consistent, accurate and far-reaching promotion of the event and the festival.
  • Initiate and gather the necessary information for the preparation of the booking and billing contracts, keeping other departments informed of program plans.
  • Determine and/or work within an established critical path for each event that incorporates key internal and external departments i.e. production, marketing, finance.
  • Determine signage requirements and submit requests.
  • Evaluate program success and effectiveness in meeting programming objectives.
  • Collect information from program participants and other departments, prepare evaluation report and make recommendations on if, when and how to repeat the event.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge and proven experience in programming and producing festivals and events in the arts and cultural sector.
  • Experience developing and maintaining partnerships with external organizations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills to professionally and tactfully interact with programming partners, internal staff across departments, and a variety of stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented to be able to coordinate multiple activities and programs.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and database management.
  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with many different teams.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • A can-do attitude, with the ability to take initiative, work independently and drive collaboration and project deliverables with other departments and external groups.
  • A solution-oriented mindset, with a high degree of adaptability and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • This position requires a flexible work schedule which includes evenings and weekends, based on programming delivery needs.
  • A general understanding of local, national and international arts infrastructures is desirable.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector is considered an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the contract.
