Job description: Job Description:Position Summary:The Head of IT Global Markets, Market & Counterparty Risk (GMR) will lead the development, implementation, and management of technology solutions that support APAC Global Markets business & operations and act as a local relay for Market Risk.The Global Markets Technology team is accountable for providing a diverse array of technology solutions that facilitate Sales & Trading, Risk, Middle, Back Office, and Reference data operations for the company, covering securities, derivatives, foreign exchange, futures, options, and commodities products.The role will be responsible for overseeing the development of end-to-end Global Markets platforms for APAC, in accordance with the overall Global Technology strategic roadmap.IT Market & Counterparty Risk technology team (IT MCR) ensures maintenance and evolutions of Market & Counterparty Risk Information System. IT MCR provides applications for risk data analysis, certification and reporting on: Economic P&L, Market Risk (Stress Test & VaR) and Counterparty Risk.The position functionally reports into the Global Head of IT Global Markets & Market Risk (IT GMR) and will be part of the global IT GMR Exco as well as the APAC CIO Manco.This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of financial markets, advanced technology, and a proven track record in managing large-scale tech initiatives as well as communicating to senior stakeholders both on run, mitigation and transforming modes.Main Responsibilities:
- Leading the Global Markets & Market Risks Technology teams across APAC locations to deliver technology products and services that align with business objectives is a primary responsibility.
- Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders across Front Office (Sales & Traders), Operations, Treasury, Risk, and Finance to comprehend the fundamental requirements and requests from each team.
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to the Global Markets & Market Risk Technology team, while also partnering with other Global Technology teams to define and execute the team’s strategy and target operating model.
- Animating governance with stakeholders to provide transparency on issues and actions, on new developments, on strategic initiatives, both for local accountabilities and on behalf of global IT
- Act as a relay of APAC vis a vis head office as well as a relay of head office in APAC.
- Ensuring and maintaining a stable production environment for technology solutions, including overseeing Risk and Control related deliverables, managing IT audits, and regulatory examinations.
- Coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, and actively fostering the career development of team members; identifying emerging talent and cultivating leadership skills within the team
- Working with Compliance and Risk partners to uphold a strong focus on Regulatory & Compliance matters pertinent to the APAC market.
- Overseeing Third Party Engagements and External Vendors responsible for delivering core trading and back-office platforms.
- Prioritizing work from multiple stakeholders in the region and collaborating closely with global teams to ensure successful delivery.
Required Skills:
- 15+ years in a forward-progressing technology management background
- Extensive knowledge of Global Market Business, Products, and front to back platform capabilities.
- Preferably 5+ years of experience in large, cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
- A strong business-centric mindset and the ability to use sound business judgment to drive optimal business outcomes is necessary.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including facing off to trading desks and business product partners, are required.
- Experience leading a technology team with extensive knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies, as well as operational aspects of managing a software stack is required.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with global teams and various control partners is essential.
- Experience in defining strategic IT solutions to align with business vision and target operating model is essential.
- Hands-on experience in managing technology risk, handling IT audits, and Regulatory engagements is desired.
- Experience with enterprise-wide planning, communication, and implementation, with a track record of on-time delivery of complex and strategic solutions with quality.
- Proven ability to decompose complex issues, drive timely decisions, and know when to engage others for input, and when to act independently, is crucial.
- Must be comfortable with ambiguity and fast change with an ability to adapt quickly and easily.
