Job description: Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) Responsible Investment (RI) team works to help integrate material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations more formally into the investment process. The RI team oversees and contributes to activities at RBC GAM related to corporate governance and responsible investing, including ESG integration, client reporting, proxy voting, engagement, and ESG thought pieces and presentations.Please Note: This is an opportunity for at least 1 year in length.What will you do?Work with fellow analysts, conduct analysis and execute proxy voting activities for RBC GAM funds and client accountsAssist investment teams with the integration of ESG considerations into the RBC GAM investment process and active stewardship activities (proxy voting and engagement)Contribute to reporting requirements consistent with RBC GAM’s responsible investment commitmentsRespond to client inquiries on responsible investment and contribute to client reporting initiativesEngage with companies and issuers on material ESG factors, as neededWhat do you need to succeed?Must Have2-5 years of relevant experienceKnowledge of ESG issues and proxy voting, with a good understanding of financial markets and responsible investmentAdvanced skills in Microsoft ExcelAbility to process information with high levels of accuracy and attention to detailExperience working effectively in teams, while taking ownership of individual projectsNice to HaveExperience in proxy voting analysis and executionCFA charterholder or pursuing the CFA charter designationExperience with Python and/or R and/or Matlab and/or Database development experience (SQL Server) and knowledge in data analyticsExperience with ESG data and services such as ISS, Glass Lewis, MSCI and/or SustainalyticsWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
