Job description: Exciting role for an Agile Business Analyst with NZ/Australia Farm Systems speciality to support our internal product team.
You will work closely with our product owner and deliver team to identify, elaborate, prioritise and test user stories in our product roadmap.
You will help to map data ingestions from a variety of farm data sources for use in agricultural decision models and analytics.About this roleMap of Ag is building a better world where industry and farms thrive together. Part of the international Map of Agriculture Group, Map of Ag NZ’s development team is based in Hamilton, New Zealand (with team members working in a mixture of on-site, hybrid, and remote situations), and develops bespoke software for agribusinesses while also developing its agricultural data platform.We are seeking applicants with genuine Australian or New Zealand farming systems experience, and an understanding of the terminology, processes, and data involved in farming.ResponsibilitiesThe Agile Business Analyst will be responsible for:

• Developing user stories, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
• Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts and developing high-level analysis
• Analysing data schemas and data file specifications, including analysis of internal and external API specifications, to elaborate data integration requirements and data flows
• Working with customers and developers to find creative solutions to complex business problems
• Following and upholding agile principles, learning, and contributing to improving team processes
• Initiating and extending product documentation
• Facilitating project workshops and relevant agile ceremonies
• Removing impediments to the team’s progress

Capabilities requiredThe Agile Business Analyst will:

• Be a proactive communicator able to effectively keep external and internal stakeholders up to date, and to develop effective documentation
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of New Zealand and/or Australian farming systems, including pastoral agriculture and related data sets, and be able to apply this in planning and testing solutions
• Have experience working in collaborative teams
• Demonstrate a servant leader skillset
• Be curious and have a passion for learning
• Have formal Agile and Business Analysis training although this may be provided where appropriate
• Have experience in working productively with customers and external business partners
• Have strong technical data skills in data analysis, the use of Excel, SQL, and JSON, and it may be advantageous to have knowledge in API exploration tools such as Swagger and Postman
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal English skills including the ability to present to customers and colleagues.
