While encampments will be the primary area of work, the incumbent will also be responsible for addressing other emerging issues as they arise, ensuring a proactive and coordinated response to community safety challenges. This position involves fostering and maintaining relationships with community partners, supporting policy development, implementing strategic initiatives aligned with the City of Brampton’s Community Safety & Well-Being framework, and ensuring regular reporting and communication of progress and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders. The position will lead coordination and collaboration across multiple internal divisions, levels of government, and service providers in addressing encampments. The position will also represent and lead strategic, planning, and operational meetings about encampment sites or related emerging issues. The Special Projects Advisor will be responsible for drafting Council reports, briefing notes, and other key communications to keep decision-makers informed.
