Job description: As our new Acoustic engineer, you will be improving the consistency of FalComs audio features. You will directly affect how FalComs equipment interacts with our users’ communications devices.The team you will be part of:We are an innovative team of specialists located at our HQ, located in Ballerup, Denmark. You will join our Audio Engineering team in the FalCom division, which is built on GN’s foundation as a leader in intelligent audio solutions.We create advanced hearing protection solutions that allow special operations, military, law enforcement and security personnel to communicate in the most extreme environments – all while providing high-quality hearing protection.You will be part of a small team of international software, hardware, and mechanical engineers. The team is characterized by a collaborative, fun, and inclusive atmosphere.We develop sophisticated software and hardware for low-power communication solutions. We work with flexibility and in teams as needed, and together we navigate in a project-oriented development culture, collaborating with colleagues across GN and especially with our R&D and sales functions.You report to Senior Manager SW & Audio Engineering, Jens Kirkelund, who explains: “It’s a very interesting position. You’ll have a lot of influence of FalComs audio experiences . It is a great opportunity for learning”.Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:Participate in new FalCom projects, and contribute with acoustic know-howExplore new technologies to improve product performance and qualityTest and calibrate prototypes to meet performance requirementsConduct acoustic measurements and analysis.Verify signal processing algorithms and communication enhancement.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulationsDevelop testing methodology to evaluate performanceUse simulation tools for developmentCollaborate with all acoustic engineers in GNTo perform well in the role, we imagine that you have:A master’s degree in acoustic engineering, or similarProduct development work experienceExperience with audio measurement equipment and analysis toolsExperience with simulation tools, such as lumped models, and more advanced tools such as ComsolProgramming skills in languages like MATLABKnowledge of electroacoustics and transducer technologyUnderstanding of signal processing techniquesUnderstanding of psychoacoustics and auditory perceptionAs a person, we hope that you:Showcase a forward-thinking mindset when addressing tasksAre proficient in critical thinking and equipped with a solution-oriented approachAre good at collaborating and communicatingAre receptive to new ideas and focused on personal and professional growthWe encourage you to applyEven if you don’t match all the above-mentioned skills, we will gladly receive your application if you think you have transferrable skills.
