(BMH3xR1)Our client is looking for an accounting and finance professional to join their team. This role reports to the Senior Vice President.Term: 12 monthsResponsibilities:Lead and oversee the accounting function including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, taxesEnsure the completeness and accuracy of the general ledger and sub-ledgers in accordance with IFRS and Group policiesLead and oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes while actively seeking to improve efficiency and qualityReview and approve monthly journal entries, accruals and account reconciliationReview and approve wholesale sales invoices and credit notesApproval of manual journal entries providing feedback and training to team members as requiredMonitor accounting and financial policies, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with IFRS and Group policiesEnsure transactions are appropriately accounted, documented and implemented in compliance with IFRS and Group policiesAccountable for design and effective operational and financial controls, including assessing current accounting and internal control systems, identifying areas for improvement and executing on implementation of new processesAccountable for regulatory and tax compliance requirements including all tax filings (income taxes, sales taxes and withholding tax returns in the US and Canada)Responsible for external audit, ensuring support and information requests are provided promptly for quarterly reviews and annual financial auditsPrepare financial statements and present commentary and analysis for leadership prior to the close of each month-end closePrepare financial analysis, liaising with counterparts across the Hush team to understand variances, trends and account balancesSupport FP&A in the preparation, analysis, and communication of monthly financial reviewWork on special projects, analytics and ad hoc requests as requiredQualifications:CPAUniversity degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline4+ years’ progressive experience in a retail or manufacturing environment would be an asset including minimum 3-4 years public accounting experienceMust have in-depth knowledge of IFRS and controlsDemonstrated experience in people management, mentoring and leading teamsYou demonstrate initiative and can work independently and as part of a team.Exceptional interpersonal, communication, project management, organizational, relationship-building, negotiation, analytical, and presentation skillsQuick learner and ability to manage multiple priorities to executionAbility to work collaboratively and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders as well as build and develop strong partnershipsInventory and/or income tax experience is a definite assetProficient in MS Excel (Advanced)Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
