We are currently expanding our finance operations and looking for a skilled General Ledger Accountant based in the Philippines to work remotely on the EST schedule.Position Overview:
The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records, ensuring accurate and timely month-end closings, and supporting our freight forwarding financial operations. You will work closely with operations and accounting teams to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled, particularly in the context of international shipping and logistics.Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily and monthly general ledger reconciliationsRecord journal entries related to freight revenue, costs, accruals, and adjustmentsMaintain and update sub-ledgers related to accounts payable, receivable, and freight chargesReconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accountsAssist with month-end and year-end close processesCollaborate with operations to ensure accurate job costing and billing alignmentEnsure compliance with accounting policies, international freight regulations, and tax guidelinesPrepare financial reports as needed by managementSupport audit processes and financial reviewsIdentify process improvement opportunities in the accounting workflowQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum 2 years of experience in general ledger accountingPrior experience in a freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain environment is highly preferredStrong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS)Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite); knowledge of freight ERP systems is a plusAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)Strong attention to detail and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote settingMust be able to work a graveyard shift (8:00 PM – 5:00 AM PHT)What We Offer:
