Job description: We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Accountant with experience in working with non-profit organizations and US-based companies. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting needs of our existing clients, including those in the non-profit sector. Your work will involve handling day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing insightful financial advice to help our clients achieve their business goals.Key Responsibilities:
Support 4 small nonprofits, and the others are for profit.
Client Accounting Management:
Serve as the accounting contact for assigned clients, managing their financial records and ensuring accuracy.
Provide regular financial reports and insights to clients, helping them understand their financial position and make informed decisions.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:
Manage invoicing processes for clients, ensuring timely billing and accurate recording of incoming payments.
Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts, maintaining healthy cash flow for clients.
Accounts Payable (AP) Management:
Process vendor bills and payments on behalf of clients, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
Reconcile vendor statements and maintain clear communication with vendors regarding payment statuses.
Bank Reconciliations:
Reconcile clients’ bank statements with their accounting records on a regular basis.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients, providing insights into their financial performance.
Assist clients with budget preparation and forecasting, helping them plan for future financial needs.
Internal Controls and Auditing:
Implement and monitor internal controls for clients to safeguard their assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and liaise with external auditors as needed.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis for clients, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Provide clients with actionable recommendations to enhance their financial performance.
Client Relationship Management:
Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.
Proactively identify clients’ evolving accounting needs and offer tailored solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA is highly preferred.
2+ years non-profit organization experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a client-serving role within an accounting firm or service provider.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online; experience with additional financial tools is a plus.
Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple client accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts to clients with varying levels of financial knowledge.
Experience with remote work and managing virtual client relationships is preferred.
Salary: $1000-$1200 USD/month
