Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander Australians are encouraged to apply.About the roleOur Aboriginal Communities Water Services (ACWS) program was established in July 2023 to manage the transition from the Department of Communities to Water Corporation for providing safe and reliable water services to remote Aboriginal communities. The ACWS program is a critical component of our Thrive2035 goals, our Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Strategy, and the transformation roadmap.In this role you will manage the strategic development, central management and coordination of community engagement, stakeholder engagement and government relations for the ACWS. - You’ll develop and lead the regional delivery of Corporate community and internal engagement and communications program to Aboriginal communities to optimise stakeholder relationships, customer experience and program objectives
- Oversee and manage the development and implementation of engagement programs within budget and timeframe according to current and future strategic Corporate goals
- Leverage effective stakeholder relationships to uplift cultural understanding and knowledge in Water Corporation capabilities and strategies
- Oversees identification of key Aboriginal customers and stakeholders who represent the interests of impacted communities to develop and maintain mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships to achieve strategic Corporate targets and objectives
- Manage and coordinate Priority Ones (P1’s) and Ministerial liaison to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for our community engagement programs and the delivery of communication to support them; and support executive with joint agency projects and steering groups
- Prepare and provide expert advice on policies, briefs and reports to the Water Corporate Executive, Minister and other agencies and organisations
- Manage or participate in management of assigned incidents in accordance with corporate processes
About youYou will have a degree level qualification in Business or other relevant discipline along with substantial experience working with Aboriginal communities, internal and external stakeholders and industry groups on complex matters. Some key experiences are:
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with and build relationships with customers, contractors and stakeholders
- Ability to demonstrate cultural intelligence and work effectively and meaningfully across different cultures
- Demonstrated leadership capacity to develop and maintain a management operation systems and apply active management behaviours to ensure team performance
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in business processes
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
