Start with a cup of Longjing tea in our Lobby Lounge before picking up your bicycles and heading out to explore the city, then come back for a soothing treatment in our chinoiserie-filled Spa, followed by dinner in one of Jin Sha’s private-dining rooms.About the role:The Assistant Director ofHousekeeping is responsible for the financial and operational management of thehousekeeping department comprising of Rooms, Linen and Uniform, Valet andSeamstress, Public Areas, Flower Shop and Contractors. The individual is alsoresponsible for the hiring of new employees, departmental training, budgeting,inventories and cleanliness standards. He/She will understand, maintain andexecute operational manual and guidelines. The assistant Director ofHousekeeping will supervise and develop personnel in the department to theirmaximum effectiveness and will strive to promote a supportive and productiveworking environment.What you will do:

  • Manages the staff of the Housekeeping Department. Interviews, trains and schedules the staff. Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed. Ensures communications and follow-up on any problems, guest requests or special requirements.

  • Establishes detailed cleaning and preventive maintenance programs to ensure appearance and life of all furniture, fixtures and equipment. Sets and maintains high standards of cleanliness. Assigns staff to complete the needed activities for the day. Monitors staff’s activities to assure that standards are being met, staff is being supported, and guest needs are being met. Inspects all areas of responsibility daily. Works directly with outside contracted companies to assure quality and timeliness of work.
  • Resolves customer complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Coordinates the housekeeping needs of any Condominium or Co-op owners. Interaction with guest will be in person and by phone.

What you bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related position with Four Seasons or other organization
  • Requires knowledge or the ability to operate computer equipment including word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Has strong interpersonal skills, is able to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation
  • Requires basic computer skills for online training
  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English and Chinese language
  • Has the ability to anticipate and prioritize the needs of the guest proactively
